Among the most beautiful natural regions accessible from Marrakech is the Ourika Valley, nestled in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains. Exploring this region offers a unique opportunity to discover an authentic side of Morocco, preserved from rapid urban development. A stay in Marrakech would not be complete without a visit to the Ourika Valley. As you journey through the valley, it is impossible not to be captivated by its unspoiled beauty and well-preserved ecosystem. It is hard to imagine that this peaceful setting lies only 40 km from the bustling city of Marrakech. The Ourika Valley is characterized by its lush greenery and the river from which it takes its name, winding gently or rushing swiftly depending on the slopes of the High Atlas. A popular hiking trail leads visitors to a series of seven waterfalls. Nature is not the only treasure preserved in the Ourika Valley. The region is also home to many traditional Berber villages perched on the mountainsides, seemingly untouched by time.
